Dark, but don’t let it be dreary…

Much as I’m sure (being August and all) you don’t want to think about it, before long the cold autumn/winter months will be upon us. The sky will cloud over. The wind and rain will get more violent. And sadly: It. Will. Be. COLD.

But just because the temperatures drop, doesn’t necessarily mean all sense of fashion has to be abandoned. Dark colours can still be worn in a stylish manner.

A little bit of ranting about the picture >>>
A key trend these coming months is texture, so try to mix and match patterns and materials when putting together an outfit. That way, even all black can be kept interesting. For coats, try a traditional leather jacket, a trench coat, or take it further to wear a faux fur-lined aviator jacket. And so it’s cold? Mix and match patterned and textured tights so you can keep wearing shorts, skirts and dresses through winter. Army-style boots are practical and stylish and go with almost everything. And finally, don’t forget the finer details. To counter-balance dark colours, you could wear pinks, purples and reds on your lip – think berries – to be right on trend. Smokey eyes and deep purple nail varnish = optional.
